Post to Google Business Profile in 2 minutes with AI

Your Google Business Profile has its own little social feed called Posts, sitting right on your map listing where every searcher sees it. Most shops never touch it because writing something feels like a whole task. It is not. Here is the two-minute version.

Why this one is worth doing

A Post shows up right on your map card, next to your hours and your phone number, for anyone who searches what you do. A fresh Post also tells Google your listing is active, which helps you show up more. It costs nothing, and posts stay on your listing until you delete them, so go back and delete a limited-time offer once it ends.

The steps

1. Open your Google Business Profile. Go to business.google.com on your phone or computer, or open the Google Business app, and sign into the account that manages your listing.

2. Find the Posts button. Tap "Add update" or "Posts" on your profile home screen. This is separate from your regular profile information, it is the feed part.

3. Open ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini in another tab. Any of the three works. Paste the prompt below and fill in the brackets.

4. Copy the answer back into the Post box. Read it once to make sure it actually sounds like you and nothing is made up. Fix anything that is wrong before you post it.

5. Add one real photo. A photo from today beats a stock photo every time. Skip this step only if you truly have nothing to show.

6. Tap Post. It goes live right away. No approval wait, no scheduling tool needed.

Paste this and fill in the brackets Write a short Google Business Profile update post, under 1,500 characters, for my business. My business is [BUSINESS NAME], a [TYPE OF BUSINESS] in [CITY, STATE]. Today I want to tell customers about [WHAT'S HAPPENING: new hours, a special, a new product, back in stock, whatever it is]. Write it in plain, friendly language like I'm talking to a neighbor, no corporate buzzwords, and end with what I want them to do next.

What to post when nothing special is happening

You do not need news. A photo of today's work with one line about it is enough. "In the chair this morning" with a picture keeps the listing active just as well as an announcement does.

What this costs

$0. Google Business Profile is free. ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini all have free versions good enough for this. The only cost is the two minutes.

How often

Once a week is enough to keep the listing looking alive. Posts stay on your listing until you delete them, so go back and delete a limited-time offer once it ends.

The 6 profile fields most shops leave blank

Posts help, but the fields underneath them matter more. Free, takes twenty minutes, and it is the biggest reason one shop shows up and the one next door does not.
